Aberration: an optical phenomenon resulting from the failure of a lens or mirror to produce a good image.

Reflecting Telescope: optical telescope consisting of a large concave mirror that produces an image that is magnified by the eyepiece.

Prism Spectroscope: an optical instrument for spectrographic analysis.

Collimate: adjust the line of sight of (an optical instrument).

Periscope: an optical instrument that provides a view of an otherwise obstructed field.

Range Finder: a measuring instrument (acoustic or optical or electronic) for finding the distance of an object.
