Parasite: an animal or plant that lives in or on a host (another animal or plant); it obtains nourishment from the host without benefiting or killing the host.

Fluke: parasitic flatworms having external suckers for attaching to a host.

Vegetable: any of various herbaceous plants cultivated for an edible part such as the fruit or the root of the beet or the leaf of spinach or the seeds of bean plants or the flower buds of broccoli or cauliflower.

Leech: a follower who hangs around a host (without benefit to the host) in hope of gain or advantage.

Ginseng: aromatic root of ginseng plants.

Tuber: a fleshy underground stem or root serving for reproductive and food storage.

Cocoyam: edible starchy tuberous root of taro plants.

Radish: pungent edible root of any of various cultivated radish plants.

Acarid: very small free-living arachnid that is parasitic on animals or plants; related to ticks.

Cassava: a starch made by leaching and drying the root of the cassava plant; the source of tapioca; a staple food in the tropics.
