Reflection: the phenomenon of a propagating wave (light or sound) being thrown back from a surface.

Refractiveness: the physical property of a medium as determined by its index of refraction.

Rainbow: an arc of colored light in the sky caused by refraction of the sun`s rays by rain.

Refract: subject to refraction.

Acoustic Radiation Pressure: (acoustics) the pressure exerted on a surface normal to the direction of propagation of a sound wave.

Mirage: an optical illusion in which atmospheric refraction by a layer of hot air distorts or inverts reflections of distant objects.

Scintillation: the twinkling of the stars caused when changes in the density of the earth's atmosphere produce uneven refraction of starlight.

Sonic Boom: an explosive sound caused by the shock wave of an airplane traveling faster than the speed of sound.

Coming Back: the occurrence of a change in direction back in the opposite direction.

Running Light: light carried by a boat that indicates the boat's direction; vessels at night carry a red light on the port bow and a green light on the starboard bow.

Air Wave: a sound wave that is transmitted via air.

Searchlight: a light source with reflectors that projects a beam of light in a particular direction.

Acoustic Wave: (acoustics) a wave that transmits sound.

Absorption: (physics) the process in which incident radiated energy is retained without reflection or transmission on passing through a medium.

Microwave: kitchen appliance that cooks food by passing an electromagnetic wave through it; heat results from the absorption of energy by the water molecules in the food.

Dislodge: change place or direction.

Beacon: a tower with a light that gives warning of shoals to passing ships.

Subsonic: (of speed) less than that of sound in a designated medium.

Curve: turn sharply; change direction abruptly.

Turn: change orientation or direction, also in the abstract sense.

Swing: change direction with a swinging motion; turn.

Concave Lens: a lens such that a parallel beam of light passing through it is caused to diverge or spread out.

Intensity: the magnitude of sound (usually in a specified direction).

Remastered: the change of quality in sound, image and video of previously created recordings.

Chink: a short light metallic sound.

Tapping: the sound of light blow or knock.

Cogwheel: a toothed wheel that engages another toothed mechanism in order to change the speed or direction of transmitted motion.

Reflected: (especially of incident sound or light) bent or sent back.

Reflective: capable of physically reflecting light or sound.

Ting: a light clear metallic sound as of a small bell.

Common Oak: medium to large deciduous European oak having smooth leaves with rounded lobes; yields hard strong light-colored wood.
