Aqua-Lung: a device (trade name Aqua-Lung) that lets divers breathe under water; scuba is an acronym for self-contained underwater breathing apparatus.

Aeroembolism: obstruction of the circulatory system caused by an air bubble as, e.g., accidentally during surgery or hypodermic injection or as a complication from scuba diving.

Swallow Dive: a dive in which the diver arches the back with arms outstretched before entering the water.

High: a forward gear with a gear ratio that gives the greatest vehicle velocity for a given engine speed.
